What do foster carers do?
Foster carers provide stable and nurturing homes for children who, for various reasons, cannot live with their birth families.
By creating a safe and secure home, foster carers help children grow and learn, offering them the support and care they need during challenging times.
Why do children need foster care?
There are many reasons why a child cannot live with their birth family and need a foster carer. It could be because of illness or death within their family, a breakdown in relationship, or because it is deemed unsafe for them to continue living with their birth family. What is important to remember is that children often require foster care due to no fault of their own.
It is important to also note that some foster children have good relationships with their birth parents and it is only due to being unable to live together that means they require foster care.
Each child’s story is different, and our foster carers are trained and prepared to best support each child’s individual needs and growth.
Why should i foster?
Fostering is a rewarding opportunity to change a child’s life. By becoming a foster carer, you can provide a child with the stability and support they need to help them flourish.
By joining our community of foster carers, you will also benefit from local and available social workers, high placement stability, generous allowance payments and 24/7 support from our local and available team.
Are foster carers paid?
Yes, all our foster carers receive two generous weekly payments. One of these payments is to cover the additional costs of fostering (food, bills, school uniforms, etc), this is called the allowance.
The other payment is to the foster carer for providing the care.
The exact amount a foster carer will receive will depend on the amount and age of children they care for.
Who can foster?
We are looking for resilient, compassionate, and deeply caring people to become foster carers. No prior experience is necessary as we provide full training and support every step of the way.
To be eligible to foster, you need to be over 21 and have a spare room in your home.
After that, we will need to do some checks and training.
